Important Dates to Remember
* Bear Pride/Popcorn Friday: Oct. 20th
*Library Days will be on Fridays
*Specials this week:
-Art: Monday and Thursday
-Gym: Tuesday and Friday
Since we have an early lunch, we are finding that our class is often very hungry by afternoon. Please send your child with a snack every day for afternoon snack. If you would like to contribute to our classroom snack bin so you don’t have to bring a snack every day, you may do that. Snack ideas for the snack bin include crackers, raisins, goldfish, granola bars, etc . If your child brings their own snack, do not feel obligated to contribute to our snack bin. Thank you!
I will be updating my wish list weekly for any items needed for the classroom.
*Quart size Ziploc bags for our flashcards
*Brass fasteners for our multiplication monster wheels

A Note from the Teacher:
Thank you to the many parents that have now signed up for Class Dojo!! If you still have not signed up, please do! If you need another invite, let me know and I will send another one. I will be starting to send out reminders starting next week for homework and other important information.
Students receive homework as well as some study/practice sheets for multiplication and division. The study sheets do NOT have to come back to school, but the homework assignments do! Thank you!!
This Week We Learned....
Math: We have been working hard continuing learning our multiplication and division facts! This week we worked on our 4s! We are getting towards the end our unit, so it is important to keep practicing those facts!
REMEMBER: Please complete homework and bring back to school the following day as we go over together in class as well as at workshop time.
REMEMBER to study for at least FIVE minutes every night over your 5s, 2s, 10s, 9s, and 3s multiplications/divisions/count-bys. One of the 3rd Grade standards in math is to know all the multiplication and division facts (0-10) FLUENTLY! It takes time and practice to memorize all the facts. We discuss strategies in class to help us remember, but additional practice and studying needs to be at home! Thank you!
Social Studies: We continued our unit over Michigan geography. We discussed natural resources found in Michigan!
Language Arts: Students go over to Miss Monks class for reading. See separate note to check out what they have been working on in
